I’m an independent type designer and consultant giving guidance to create distinctive high-quality typography that sets you apart. I’m located in Leipzig (DE) and Cairo (EG) – where I teach Latin and Arabic type design at the German University since 2017.

Variables of Type is a systematic investigation into all formal aspects of type. Even though it is mainly focused on the Latin script I am not excluding others but trying to find a flexible system which could describe any writing system and its scripts in detail — work in progress. more about → (german)

Academic Background
I graduated with distinction in typeface design from the University of Reading (UK); got my BA in Graphic Design from the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle; and studied one year at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam.
